Taiwan Society of Radiological Technologists (TWSRT)
Established decades ago, the Taiwan Society of Radiological Technologists (TWSRT) is now entering its 60th year. From laying professional foundations and building an institutional framework, to advancing academic excellence and strengthening international collaboration, we have always moved forward hand in hand with radiological technologists. Through enduring commitment and continuous innovation, we work to elevate clinical quality, foster professional growth, and create impactful cross-disciplinary solutions—helping Taiwan's radiological technology reach further, stay stronger, and move toward a future of greater promise.
For years, TWSRT has been driven by the dedication of our predecessors and successive chairpersons and councils. In 2000, their efforts helped bring the Radiological Technologists Act to fruition—an important milestone that established professional status, practice standards, and long-term development for radiological technologists in Taiwan. Today's 60th anniversary is a continuation of that same spirit of stewardship and progress.
Looking ahead from our 60-year milestone, TWSRT is not only organizing events—we are building a clear path for professional development. We host academic conferences, professional education programs, and continuing education activities, and we design special training sessions and hands-on workshops covering areas such as diagnostic imaging, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, radiation safety, medical imaging technology, smart healthcare, and quality assurance. We also publish professional journals and academic magazines to showcase research outcomes and clinical experiences—so knowledge can be shared, translated into practice, and used to further strengthen Taiwan's academic capabilities and international influence.
In response to emerging trends such as artificial intelligence, precision medicine, and big data, TWSRT actively promotes alignment between professional practice and new technologies. We encourage innovative applications, research outputs, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to strengthen teamwork, enhance patient safety, and improve care quality—so every advancement can be reflected in real-world healthcare.
On the international stage, TWSRT has been an early member of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) since 1974. We are also one of the rotating host organizations of EACRT, and we participate in ASIA CPD, continually engaging in online meetings and international exchange to support educational collaboration and ongoing professional development across Asia. Each year, we hold international academic conferences and encourage our members to attend global events, submit papers, and share scholarly contributions—ensuring Taiwan's achievements remain connected with the world.
TWSRT successfully hosted AACRT in 1997 and 2011, building strong international experience. Last year, we once again won the bid for Taiwan to host 2027 AACRT. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, we sincerely thank our predecessors, council members, and partners at home and abroad for their unwavering support. Going forward, TWSRT will continue to honor our tradition while embracing innovation—making the Society even more vibrant, influential, and dedicated to creating a better future for radiological technology in Taiwan.
